**Action Required for Salesforce Administrators**

When upgrading from v3.89.0 (or previuos), [review your Delpha Integration User setup in the Delpha Admin tab](/delpha-for-salesforce/delpha-setup/install-delpha/connect-the-org-to-delpha.md). Ensure the designated integration user's Salesforce Profile includes the required permissions: `Customize Application`, `View All Data`, and `View Setup and Configuration`. This enables automated platform event trigger configuration during setup.

## What's new

Delpha v3.91.0 introduces the foundational External Client App (ECA) architecture for passwordless Salesforce authentication, normalized field recommendations in the Score Meter, preserved user edits during background reassessments, and enhanced duplicate pair tracking with frozen record names for Data Stewards.

### **Salesforce Integration & Passwordless Authentication Foundation**

We have modernized how Delpha connects to your Salesforce org, laying the groundwork for enterprise security and streamlined administrator onboarding.

* **External Client App (ECA) Architecture**: Delpha now packages and deploys its own External Client App directly into your Salesforce environment. This eliminates the need for administrators to manually enter credentials or navigate consent screens during setup. Authentication flows securely between Salesforce and Delpha's backend via OAuth JWT.
* **Dedicated Integration User Setup**: Administrators designate a specific Salesforce user for Delpha integration using an intuitive dropdown selector on the Setup page—no password entry required.
* **Permission Validation & Clear Guidance**: The Setup page now proactively validates the integration user's required permissions (`Customize Application`, `View All Data`, and `View Setup and Configuration`). If permissions are missing, you receive clear runbook guidance directly in the UI instead of silent setup failures.
* **Improved Page Load Performance**: Removed redundant identity endpoint callouts, reducing overhead on record page loads across your Salesforce instance.

### **Score Meter: Normalized Field Recommendations**

Delpha now surfaces standardized field values prominently in the Score Meter to accelerate data quality decisions.

* **Top-Priority Normalization**: Standardized recommendations for Address, Legal ID, Website, Name, Social Media, and Phone now appear at the top of the recommendation list with full confidence scoring.
* **Preserved Rejection Logic**: When you reject a normalized recommendation, the system intelligently falls back to next-best options instead of index errors.

### **Enhanced Duplicate Record Tracking & Data Steward Workflow**

We've updated duplicate pair storage and processing to improve data steward visibility and maintain clean deduplication queues.

* **Frozen Record Names at Pair Creation**: Duplicate pairs now capture and preserve exact record names (including Case Numbers for Case objects) at the moment pairs are created. This prevents confusion even after records are merged or renamed.
* **Automatic Secondary Pair Cleanup**: When a duplicate pair is merged, secondary pairs referencing the losing record automatically transition to Auto No + Processed, clearing obsolete lookup references while maintaining historical integrity.
* **Smart Pair Skip Logic**: Already-processed pairs are now safely skipped during subsequent merge cycles, preventing duplicate status changes.

### **User Override & LinkedIn Enrichment Protection**

* **Preserved Manual Edits (`BotEdit`)**: If a user manually edits a field value using Delpha's edit option, background automated reassessments will no longer reset that status. Custom entries remain preserved until underlying input fields change.
* **Enhanced LinkedIn Status Validation**: Improved status checking for LinkedIn enrichment routines to respect previously verified or rejected profile statuses across sync cycles.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.delpha.io/delpha-for-salesforce/delpha-upgrade/upgrade-tasks/build-3.91.x/build-3.91.0-04trl000001wq7jiaq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
