# How to define a Golden Record for Duplicate

## How to Use the "D Duplicate Is Golden" Field in Delpha

Golden records represent the most trusted and accurate version of a record, either sourced from external validation or curated internally. Delpha lets you automatically preserve and prioritize these records in duplicate management using the **D Duplicate Is Golden** field.

## What Is "D Duplicate Is Golden"?

* **Field Type**: Boolean (Checkbox)
* **Purpose**: When set to `True`, this field marks the record as the **default master** during:
  * **Auto Merge processes**
  * **Delpha Bot duplicate conversations** triggered from a record

This ensures that golden records are kept as the authoritative source during deduplication.

## Make It Dynamic with a Formula

You can replace the static checkbox with a **custom formula field** to dynamically control which records are considered golden based on your own criteria (e.g., trusted source, partner type, or completeness).

**Example Use Case**:

```plaintext
IF(Source__c = "Official Registry", TRUE, FALSE)
```

This flexibility allows Delpha to adapt to your specific data governance policies.

## Key Benefits

* Enforces trust by preserving known good data
* Ensures consistency across merges
* Reduces manual intervention during deduplication
