# How to modify the detection threshold

## Overview

Delpha’s duplicate detection engine uses an **AI Threshold** to decide when two records are considered potential duplicates. This threshold is based on a **confidence score** from 0 to 100.

By adjusting the AI Threshold, you can make the system more or less sensitive to potential matches.

## Where to Update the Threshold

1. Open the **Delpha Setup** app in Salesforce.
2. Go to the **Duplicate Configuration** tab.
3. In the **Properties section**, locate the field labeled **AI Threshold**.
4. Set your desired threshold value:
   * **Higher value** → Stricter detection (fewer pairs flagged as duplicates)
   * **Lower value** → Broader detection (more pairs flagged)

> Example: Setting the AI Threshold to **85** means only pairs with a match score of 85 or higher will be considered potential duplicates.

## When to Update the Threshold

* You're getting **too many false positives** → Increase the threshold.
* You're **missing true duplicates** → Decrease the threshold
