Duplicate detection - When does it happen?

Delpha automatically detects Salesforce duplicate records every 12 hours. Learn what triggers detection and how to pause or disable it using setup options.

How Does Duplicate Detection Work in Delpha?

Duplicate detection in Delpha is a scheduled process that runs every 12 hours, automatically scanning your Salesforce org to identify potential duplicate records.

This article explains how the detection works, what triggers it, and how to pause or stop it if needed.

What Triggers a Duplicate Detection?

Delpha scans for duplicates under the following conditions:

  • New records created in Salesforce (excluding those flagged as D Do Not Process = True)

  • Modified records: If any field listed in the Fields section of the Delpha Duplicate Settings is updated, the record is automatically re-evaluated.

This ensures that even long-existing records are reconsidered when relevant data changes.

When Does It Run?

  • Frequency: Every 12 hours

  • Scope: Applies to Contacts, Accounts, Leads, and any object configured in your Delpha Duplicate Setup

How to Disable Duplicate Detection

You can temporarily or permanently stop the detection process:

1. Deactivate the Duplicate Use Case

  • Go to Delpha Duplicate Settings

  • Turn off the Duplicate detection use case for the relevant object

2. Set Detection Frequency to ‘Never’

  • Open the Delpha Setup app

  • Navigate to Tab: Delpha Configuration → Section: Duplicates

  • In the frequency dropdown, select ‘Never’
